For nearly 40 years, I believed I knew who I was. Then, a single sentence changed everything.
A casual remark from a trusted family friend, who had once worked in intelligence, revealed a secret I never saw coming:
One Conversation. One Secret. A Truth That Changed Everything.
I was adopted.
That moment sparked a relentless search across decades and continents.
Along the way, I uncovered a black-market adoption ring, hidden identities, and connections to organized crime.
What started as an ordinary trip became a life-changing journey to uncover the truth about my past and my identity.
💡 How far would you go to uncover your story?

A Compelling Tribute to Perseverance and Strength
I completed reading the book in less than four days, a testament to its compelling and immersive quality; my familiarity with many of the individuals portrayed transformed the reading experience into a vivid reconnection with the past. This well-crafted work will resonate with readers familiar with Vancouver’s history and with those who value narratives grounded in lived experience. - Cleonice Biondi - Vancouver December 27, 2025 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
No Baby Should Have to Live as a Secret
This book was so moving for me as an adopted person. I was adopted in 1959, through Children's Home Society of Minnesota, but there was still money exchanged in donations and a large lawyer fee. I did not have the same secrecy as Diana, but the dynamics were similar. The mystery and the intrigue, and the need to find the truth about ourselves is so similar in many adoptions. I found Diana's drive and unrelenting striving to know the truth to be so beautiful and meaningful. No baby should have to live as a secret. Thank you Diana, for your truth. - Sharon McNamara - Minnesota - Reviewed December 16, 2025 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book inspired me from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. - Autumn Sansom - Florida - Reviewed December 15, 2025 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
